Agropellets or even alternative pellets are produced from surplus agricultural production such as straw, hay, waste resulting from the cleaning of grain, oilseeds and pulses. Compared to wooden pellets generally have a higher ash content (5%). Agropellets are an important source of renewable energy and represent a significant potential for economic development in rural areas.
The pellets are used as a substitute for fossil fuels in boilers, domestic stoves and fireplaces. Because they are loose, they may be used in boilers with automatic operation.
Pellets are designed both for households and for industrial heating and warmings (eg heating plants, power plants).
