Sunflower pellets are produced from sunflower seed hulls, obtained during the pressing of sunflower oil. They contain a high proportion of fatty, well-flammable materials. For this reason they are particularly suitable for energy recovery. They have the shape of granules with a diameter of 8 mm. Sunflower pellets have a high calorific value of 20 MJ / Kg, classified just behind coal! Against the wood pellets are characterized by greater proportion of ash.
The pellets are used as a substitute for fossil fuels in boilers, domestic stoves and fireplaces. Because they are loose, they may be used in boilers with automatic operation.
Pellets are designed both for households and for industrial heating and warmings (eg heating plants, power plants).
